Eighty Countries in Nine Months

“Music is the universal language of mankind.” - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

On 20 November 2015, a young talented girl from Vancouver, Canada embarked on a journey like no other. Capri Everitt and her family were on a mission to travel to 80 countries across the world where she would lend her voice to SOS Children’s Villages in hopes of raising $1 million for children affected by war, poverty and unfortunate circumstances making her the youngest SOS Youth Ambassador.

The journey started when young the Everitt family made the decision to temporarily leave their native home of Canada to travel the world. Capri performed at Carnegie Hall in New York on 20 December 2015 as a winner in the American Protege International Music Competition. As part of her mission, Capri will be singing the national anthems of 80 countries in their national language. SOS works in 134 countries and has over 540 children's Villages throughout the world. Funds raised from USA-based donors will be going to programmes in: South Africa, India, Greece, the Philippines, and the United States.

Capri will be visiting South Africa from 14 - 18 April 2016, where she will be interacting with the children at our village in Ennerdale, south of Johannesburg and learning the South African National Anthem.
